Looking for an experienced metal fabricator to join our team. Our shop specializes mainly in structural steel components, railings, staircases, custom 1 of 1 parts, repair work and occasional sheet metal work.
Responsibilities:
-Work in accordance with plans and specifications
-Read blueprints and technical sketches
-Reporting all defects/work orders to Fabrication Supervisor
-Clean, repair and perform maintenance on shop equipment
-Complying with industry standards and safety regulations
-Efficiently manage time and meet specified deadlines
-Operate various hand tools and shop equipment such as chop saws, band saws, lathe, milling machine, press brake, iron worker, MIG welders, TIG welders, stick welders, belt sanders, oxy-acetylene torches, and sanding & deburring tools.
-Fabrication of parts and components as assigned
-Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications using measurement tools such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, rulers etc.
-Interpret measurements
-Verify specifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Must have regular, reliable attendance
-Excellent attention to detail
-Able to read blueprints and technical sketches
-Work well independently and within a team and have the ability to coordinate efforts with fellow co-workers
-Considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade
-Considerable knowledge of the maintenance and repair of machine shop tools and equipment.
-Needs a strong appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on deadline
-Good communication skills, both written and oral
