Secured Network Solutions Inc. is a well-established, leading voice & data, fire & security, and underground construction company in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake, servicing all of Hampton Roads. SNS is seeking qualified candidates for the Horizontal Directional Drill Locator position. MUST HAVE 2-3 YEARS OF HDD LOCATING EXPERIENCE. A Class A CDL is highly preferred. SNS's Horizontal Directional Drill position falls into our underground utilities division. The job entails utilizing specialized equipment to install underground utility lines without disrupting the surface. This process includes the installation of pipes beneath roads, railways, rivers, and other obstacles, while also ensuring the avoidance of existing utilities such as gas, electric, water, and sewer lines. This is a great opportunity for a self-starter and motivated individual seeking a long-term position with opportunity for advancement. Preferred candidates MUST HAVE LOCATOR EXPERIENCE.
Responsibilities and Duties:
-Ensure the safety of the public and other utilities' underground facilities;
-Ability to read and comprehend utility locates;
-Set the equipment up, including the drill, water tanks, and grounding the machine;
-Ability to properly formulate and mix drilling mud for the site conditions;
-Ability to perform proper reaming and pull-back methods for existing conditions;
-Oversee laborers and/or crew members' work and monitor time usage;
-Ability to properly clean and maintain the equipment, check fluid levels, and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post-trip inspections and the required reports, perform needed maintenance, including winterizing equipment;
-Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required reports (i.e. Bore log, vehicle maintenance reports, crew time logs, etc.);
-Follows specifications for the job and company policies;
-Complies with safety procedures on and off the project site;
-Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work.
Requirements:
-2-3 YEARS HDD Locator experience (REQUIRED);
-Class A CDL (PREFERRED);
-Clean Motor Vehicle Report (REQUIRED);
-Clear background check for base access (REQUIRED);
-Pass pre-employment drug screening (REQUIRED);
-Reliable transportation to get to and from work (REQUIRED);
-Must have good work ethic;
-Must be dependable.
