Hi there! My name is Wren. Our current roommate is moving to be closer to his new job, so we’re looking for someone to take his place on the lease. I’ll try to be thorough in this post as to not waste anyone’s time or leave you wondering about anything important!
The apartment is located in Virginia Beach. You’d be renting a room in a 960 sqft. 2 bed 2-bath apartment. We’d split rent and utilities 50/50. Your share of base rent would be $868.50. Your share of flat-rate utilities (wi-fi, washer/dryer rental, renters insurance + valet trash removal) would be $67. Water and electricity vary so I can’t give an exact number on that. But I personally try to be responsible with my usage (turning things off when not in use, etc) in order to keep bills as low as possible.
You’d have a private 12x12 unfurnished bedroom, walk-in closet as well as your own full bathroom right across the hall from your room. We’d share common areas including the kitchen, living room and balcony that overlooks water. The living room is fully furnished (no room for any more furniture in living room). You would also have access to an app that gives us full control over the thermostat and virtually lock/unlock the front door, as well as another app to submit maintenance requests and pay rent. There is a fitness center, tennis court and dog parks on site as well as laundry in-unit.
We have a cat and small/medium-sized dog. When we’re not home, cat stays in our room and dog stays crated so they will not be in your way. We have reptiles that stay in secure enclosures in our room (you never have to see them if you don’t want to). My girlfriend and I share my room. We’re both in our 30s and are both pretty quiet. If we’re not at work, we’re typically tending to our animals or watching tv.
We are extremely LGBTQ-friendly (but not exclusive, anyone is welcome to reach out)! I myself am a trans guy and do drag occasionally.
We are seeking someone responsible, financially stable and willing to go on the lease with me. We’d like someone who’s planning to stick around for at least 12 months. They’re not harsh about credit scores here but they will ask for proof of income. We are open to a roommate with a pet, but prefer no cats because mine does not get along with them (we’ve tried properly introducing her to other cats many times and it never works out 😢 I’m open to discussing it though if you’re willing to navigate a routine that keeps them separated). Both pets are fine with other animals though. Added pet rent is $30 and they also charge a pet deposit.
Lmk if you’re interested! I’m happy to answer any additional questions you may have.
(Again, the room will be unfurnished and my current roommate will have the room empty for you before your move-in date!)
