Room available now in Concordia. Open to long or short term rental arrangements, with the option of a furnished room if needed.
Room for rent available in a spacious 4-bedroom house in Concordia. Great neighborhood and on a quiet street. Close to Kennedy School (which includes free soaking for neighbors!), Alberta Arts District and walking distance to Fernhill and Wilshire Parks. We’re hoping for a like-minded, respectful roommate to help foster a welcoming environment. Artistic, crafty, or outdoor minded folks could find a good fit here, but open to those from all walks of life.
At this time, we are unable to consider applicants with furry pets, including ESA. There is a friendly dog living in the home, but he’s had some challenges with sharing the space with other dogs and cats previously and we're at the pet capacity per the rental agreement. He's also currently dealing with some health issues and I can explain more if interested in the room.
About the House:
Common areas include kitchen with standard amenities (newer dishwasher, gas range, etc). There's a formal dining room but has been used more as office in the past (last pic). In the process of creating more of a flex workout, and/or a music space in that room and there's a pullout couch in there for the occasional guest. Kitchen dining area has a table and even a bonus wood burning fireplace! Kitchen and dining areas have hardwood style floors. Living room is carpeted with a wood burning fireplace, plants and nice natural light. There’s a bonus shared space upstairs that's usually been used as a media or lounge space. Bedrooms and media room are all carpeted. Utility room with a washer, dryer, and sink. House is fully furnished. Some extra storage in the garage and walk in attic space. Modest backyard with a low deck, bbq and fire pit.

11' x 13.25' - 146 sq ft - $500/month
Ground floor bedroom, no other bedrooms on this floor. East facing window with nice morning light and closet with doors. Half bath in hallway closest to this room. Higher traffic area of the house, so would be ideal for those not bothered by that type of thing, but also convenient for household amenities. This room easily has the best climate control in the house, staying cooler in warmer months and has better heat in cooler months.
Bathrooms: 2.5 baths.
Two full bathrooms are located on the top floor and are shared by two roommates each. The half bath is on the ground floor and shared by the house.
Our values and house rules:
Hoping to add a housemate that is interested in community living with a desire to create a welcoming environment. Seeking someone who is open minded and accepting of all humans. We'd like to maintain a space where direct communication is valued and any potential house issues can be addressed openly as they come up. It would be great to have housemates that all get along well and have similar interests and passions, potentially hanging out beyond just seeing each other around the house. We all have our days, but we strive to clean up after ourselves and respect shared common areas, a little bit goes a long way. Moderate/responsible drinking is totally fine, but not really a party house at all. Smoking isn't allowed inside the home as per the lease agreement, but smokers are welcome to use the outdoor space. We enjoy get togethers like bbqs, bonfires, and game nights. A couple roommates sometimes play music at reasonable hours (guitar, keyboard, vocals and the occasional banjo or fiddle).
About Us:
G - 40 (he/him) - I can be extroverted, yet laid back and enjoy space and time to myself as well. From Southern Oregon, but in Portland for 18 years. I enjoy conversations and hanging out with my roommates, but also respect everyone's space and need for time to themselves. I have a 7 year old Aussie named Cru who can be a little shy but sweet once he warms up to you. I stay active in my free time, getting outdoors for things like hiking, backpacking and climbing. I also love to snowboard, skateboard, surf, ride bikes, and dance. I studied sculpture and printmaking at PSU. I work full time as a carpenter. My partner Shelby is also around a lot, but doesn't live here.
J - 34 (he/him) - Owns a leather making company, run out of a local shop. Also works in events industry, working events such as Red Bull Rampage and Lightning in a Bottle. Loves to mountain bike, surf and is passionate about his rig that runs on veggie diesel. Brings great energy to the house and enjoys chatting while hanging out, cooking dinner, etc.
J - 28 (he/him) - rare Portland native. Works as a school bus driver and part time beekeeper. Enjoys sci-fi, games and D and D.
Move in costs:
Rental agreement is month to month. First months rent and $500 security deposit due up front. If that feels like a barrier, we can talk about spreading it out. Utilities have averaged around $100 a month depending on the season (higher for water bill months and less than $100 in others).
