Vintage 5-string open-back banjo. cherry neck with carved heel, inlaid fret board, 11" spun silver pot, skin head measures 11 inches across, 26.5 inch scale. Nice carved detail, good inlay, Stewart's patented turnbuckle neck brace on the back for neck adjustments. Rim is spun over cherry. No serial numbers on makers mark. The circle on the back of the peghead is where the Acme logo should be. Purchased in 2009, the previous owner said it was an Acme Imperial (SS Stewart) C. 1900. The banjo has been a reliable player with a nice tone, with no changes made other than string replacement with nylgut. Local pickup or meetup only. No trades.
