Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Lead Mechanic to oversee second shift operions in our fleet maintenance department. This role is critical to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely maintenance of our trucks and equipment. This candide needs to have strong leadership abilities, hands-on mechanical expertise, and a commitment to safety and operional excellence under the Waste Connection standard. Accountability is key.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise second shift mechanics and technicians. Based on workload provided by manager.
• Oversee the Preventive Maintenance Program
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on trucks scheduled by manager.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with DOT regulions and company standards.
• Train and mentor junior mechanics, promoting a culture of safety and improvement.
• Maintain and oversee the cleanliness of shop.
• Log and report any major breakdowns & stus of current repairs to manager the time of discovery to properly plan for repairs &/or prepare the second shift.
• Conduct shop talk conversions discussing safety sensitive topics and waste connections standards.
• Oversee th company policies such as LOTO & Tire policy are being followed.
• Use your knowledge of wh’s going on in the shop to utilize RTA or fleet management software to oversee completion of work orders. Th includes the charging of parts and proper work descriptions.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and support field operions when necessary.
• 35/65 work split. 35% of the job is clerical in office, 65% is on the floor.
• Utilize parts ordering system to coordine with manager/clerk on parts needing to be ordered.
• Perform Quality Checks on work done on the 1st & 2nd shifts.
• Participe in daily “Fleet Condition meetings" with manager and First shift lead.

Work Schedule:

• Second shift: 12PM – 10PM
• Alterning Surdays and EVERY weekend following a holiday.

• Pay re: $25 - $32/hr depending on experience.
