Overview: To operate equipment used for laying pavers for sidewalks, parking lots, and landscaping beds with tasks ranging from preparing and cleaning up job sites to loading and unloading materials. Using tools and equipment such as form tampers and stone spreaders.
Responsibilities:
• Move and carry tools around the job site
• Clean and prepare job sites
• Operate equipment to spread, smooth, level, and reinforce stone and sand
• Operate small hand and power tools
• Read plans(preferred), instructions, or specifications to determine work activities
• Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed
• Follow safety guidelines and regulations
• Communicate with coworkers and supervisors about job tasks and concerns
• Other tasks as assigned
Education: GED or High School diploma preferred
Experience: 6 months previous experience preferred; On the job training available
Certifications and Licenses: Driver’s license required
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs consistently through the day
Must be able to push pull and carry
Must be able to use hands to manipulate tools and materials
Must be able to reach with arms
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to kneel consistently through the day
Must be able to bend and twist
Must be able to see and hear
Must be able to work in the Summer heat and Winter cold
