Hello, we are a family with a child currently in a difficult housing situation and are urgently looking for a place to rent.
We want to be completely honest about our circumstances because we value transparency. We are currently living in a hotel and have two service dogs as part of our family. We are seeking a rental that would work with our situation.
Our previous housing situation ended unexpectedly. We had one late rent payment, which was fully paid within the same month, and we were prepared to pay the following month as usual. Despite previously being consistent with payments, we were given a 10-day eviction notice. We later learned the property owner intended to sell the home. We chose not to fight the eviction and moved out peacefully.
Since then, we’ve continued facing hardship, including the former landlord trying to charge us rent after 3 months after the eviction. while trying to afford hotel costs. Because of this, application fees and large upfront deposits are extremely difficult for us right now.
We are not asking for a handout — only a hand up and a fair chance. We are willing to work with a landlord, including paying extra monthly toward a deposit if needed. We are responsible, honest people who simply need an opportunity to get back on stable ground for our child and family.
