Position Summary
The DSP Lead / Program Coordinator oversees daily operations of residential, day support, and community-based services. This role ensures compliance with DBHDS, DMAS, HIPAA, and agency standards while supporting staffing, scheduling, training, documentation, client care, and administrative operations. The position combines leadership, direct support, quality assurance, and program coordination responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage DSP schedules and ensure adequate coverage across programs
- Monitor attendance, clock-ins/outs, and correct scheduling issues
- Provide on-call support and assist with emergency staffing needs
- Work direct care shifts PRN when needed
- Coordinate time-off requests, interviews, and staffing coverage
- Train, shadow, and support new employees in the field
Recruitment & Hiring
- Assist with hiring process including applications and interviews
- Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files
Training & Supervision
- Orient and train new DSP staff
- Maintain training records and provide ongoing staff development
- Supervise staff and support performance evaluations and corrective actions
- Facilitate staff meetings as needed
Compliance & Documentation
- Support completion and review of service documentation (progress notes, MARs, logs, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with DBHDS, DMAS, HIPAA, and agency policies
- Maintain required safety and facility documentation (fire drills, logs, inspections)
Direct Care & Client Support
- Provide direct support including hygiene, mobility, medication assistance, and daily living skills
- Support community integration and escort individuals to appointments and activities
- Promote person-centered care, dignity, choice, and independence
- Operate agency vehicles safely when required
- Report program updates and concerns to the Program Director
Administrative Support
- Perform general office tasks (filing, documentation, emails, record keeping)
- Support the Program Director with operational needs
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of DBHDS, DMAS, and HIPAA regulations
- Ability to train, supervise, and support staff effectively
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced care environments
- Strong documentation and compliance skills
- Experience in residential, day support, or community-based services preferred
