This table is an 80’s-era drop-leaf dining table. The tabletop is a "Formica"-style: medium-density fiberboard with an "aggregate ice" laminate finish. Fortunately, this is NOT the folding-metal-base style, which was typically fraught with gremlins. My mother had this in her kitchen dinette for the first 2/3’s of its presence in her home, always covered with at least TWO table clothes. Even the protective vinyl banding around the edge is still fully intact. In the past 12 years, it has not been used for dining at all, and is in real decent shape.
