I want to first introduce myself. I am a Family Physician and a member of a non-profit organization called Hands On Global, an international team of Americans and Brazilians who travel to Zanskar in Northern India to provide medical care to a Tibetan buddhist community. We are going this year in June 3 - July 3, 2019. Last year we had a group that included MDs, NPs, nurses, Physical therapists, massage therapists, reiki therapists. The Brazilian team included a surgeon, cardiologist, and pediatrician. We also brought 2 Tibetan doctors as well from San Francisco. We have a full Tibetan and Western pharmacy. We also had a radiologist on the team who did ultrasound. Our mission is to make the Sowa Rigpa Clinic sustainable year round. We have a few more spaces for new members this year. Anyone interested can call me directly and we will take any members until the team is full. We are finalizing our team by mid-April (soon!) In the Himalayas, members also have an opportunity to visit the local monasteries and temples. Some of our members who were adventurous took the trek to Phuktal Monastery located in a cave that is so remote that it can only be reached by foot after hiking for a day.
I have included a documentary of our organization from Youtube.
We are searching for our international team to serve this Zanskar buddhist community per the Dalai Lama's. I am excited to share this opportunity for you to be a member of the team. Please feel free to call with any questions.
