I am the 3rd owner of this truck. My father in law purchased this truck from the original owner. I kept it in the family after he passed away in 2002. The truck was built at the Norfolk plant. It is in original condition. I have driven this truck for the last 20 years. I bought a newer truck 2 years ago but kept this one with high hopes of one day restoring it, but I'm getting up in age now and that's probably never going to happen. I am listing it hoping to find someone looking for a good 9th gen truck to restore. I will also be listing it on Classic.com.
The truck has the original 302 cu.in (5.0 liter) motor. It starts right up, does not burn oil or smoke, and has never had any major work, The oil and filter was changed every 3500 miles. The A/C does not work but everything is still there. The rear seal leaks.
The transmission is in good condition, but he shift linkage might need a little adjustment. The heat does not work. The cooling system is pretty dirty and needs to be flushed and maybe a new heater core.
The interior is original. Power windows, power door locks, tilt wheel.
This truck has never been in an accident, or had any bodywork, and whats left of the paint is original. The body is in great condition with no rust or major damage. It does have a small dent on the left lower rear of the bed where i backed into a low pole in a parking lot and bent the bumper. The camper shell is missing the rear flip up glass.
