Original owner is selling two (qty 2) reproduction 18th century, hand blown clear drinking glasses. Historically these Georgian style glasses were used for ale, beer or wine. Conical deception bowl rest on knop stem and circular foot with snapped pontil on base.
Approximate dimensions: Glass #1: 8 5/8'' high, 2/ 3/4” top diameter, 3 1/8” base diameter, 6 oz capacity. Glass #2: 7 7/8” high, 3 1/4” top diameter, 3 1/8” base diameter, 6 oz capacity.
Purchased at Period Designs, Yorktown VA. This business, which closed, specialized in reproduction 16th -18th Century Museum quality ceramics, glassware, and original prints. It was owned by Rob Hunter, editor for The Chipstone Foundation which publishes “Ceramics in America”, Michelle Erickson, world renown ceramist and Ginny Lascara, owner of The Black Dog Gallery in Yorktown VA.
Condition: Mint – original purchase condition. Glasses have slight size variations and small seed bubbles, which are normal for hand-blown pieces. Note: Wood pieces shown in the photos are not included. See photos.
