CRAWFORD SWAMPSCOTT SAILING DORY. An on line search will reveal its origin and history. It’s highly regarded and sought after with a following.
The hull is fiberglass and all the trim is mahogany. The length is 16’ with a beam of 5’8” and only draws 7” with the center board
up. All the fittings are made of brass and there is a brass through hull drain plug for wash down.
An outboard motor well with a 4 hp Johnson 2 stroke motor and 2 auxiliary three gallon tanks that are plumbed under the seats moves the Dory along with 2 adults at a speed of 10- 12 mph.
Also, the Dory is a very dry boat that deflects waves very well.
The sail is in very good condition and provides for reefing. It is made by David Howard sailmaker from Marshfield, Ma. It is gaff rigged with nicely finished spars as well as the detachable rudder and tiller.
This sailing dory is excellent for rowing, sailing or motoring. Ideal for fishing and camping expeditions.
Comes on a Load Rite trailer with roller guides, bunks and functional lights and a new spare tire. A canvas cover with fiberglass supports allows for keeping debris out while not in use.
