This classic wood cabinet table top radio would make a memorable gift for anyone who appreciates working vintage radios, or early post WWII period pieces.
The Airline Model 64 BR-1808A was a technologically advanced superheterodyne radio receiver manufactured in 1946, with 8 tubes, an isolation transformer for safety, and an input jack for a vintage phonograph. The components have been restored with unused old-stock vacuum tubes and equivalent modern electrolytic capacitors and resistors. The two dial lamps, the dial cord, the speaker grill cloth, and the power cord have been replaced. It has a built-in loop antenna and a rear-chassis connector for an external shortwave antenna. With push-pull amplifier circuitry, this radio works nicely, providing a rich sound through its 7” speaker. The receiver can tune-in standard AM broadcasts and the 49M, 31M, 25M, and 19M shortwave bands. The cabinet is clean and in good condition. A schematic diagram and parts list will be included.
