POSITION DESCRIPTION: Perform classroom and practical instruction of military and civilian personnel in EOD procedures and equipment. Instructors utilize teaching methods such as individual coaching, group discussions, lectures, and demonstrations. Instructors will supervise practical work performed by students and assist them at points of difficulty. Instructors will test students to evaluate their learning progress and to assess the effectiveness of instruction. Instructors maintain and update curriculum modules.
EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of the Navy School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD). Must have high school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE: Military instructor experience preferred. Journeyman Instructor Training is available.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Must be a former military professional with an honorable discharge
• Must be a graduate of NAVSCOLEOD with a minimum of 6 years EOD/UXO experience
• Must have been awarded a Senior EOD Badge or higher. Requirement is waiverable on a case by case basis for those personnel with extensive OIF/OEF operational experience
• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate effectively and clearly in the English language
• Must be a U. S. Citizen
• Must currently possess or successfully receive a government Secret security clearance
• Must have the physical ability to lift and move equipment up to 55 pounds
